Take-out is a meal that you order to be delivered to

your home or office. The food is prepared and packaged in advance, then it,s ready when you are. You can either call the restaurant and place an order over the phone, or go online and place an order through their website. Take-out meals are delivered to your door, or picked up at the restaurant,s location, because Some take-out restaurants offer delivery services as well.

There are two types of take out： delivery and carry

out (or pickup). Delivery means the food will be brought directly to your house by one of their employees； while carry out means that you have to pick up your own food from the restaurant after ordering it.

Why do people order take-out?

People sometimes want to save time by ordering their

favorite foods from a restaurant they know well instead of having them delivered from somewhere else. Or maybe they just don,t feel like cooking that night! Whatever the reason, there are many great reasons for ordering take-out： convenience, price, variety, etc.
